Arrival information

Litomyšl is in East Bohemia, and is conveniently accessible from the international E442 highway between Hradec Králové and Olomouc. It is approximately 160 km from Prague, 90 km from Brno and 55 km from Hradec Králové. We recommend that you arrive from Prague by the D11 motorway from Prague to Hradec Králové and then via to Brno and Olomouc. The journey using this route should take 2 hours. Navigation systems sometimes offer a route via motorway D1 to Havlíčkův Brod and Hlinsko and Polička to Litomyšl. This route is longer, but the views of the Czech-Moravian highlands are beautiful and the roads are less busy. However, they are frequently affected by fog and during the winter period the roads are sometimes difficult to pass.

The Suite will be ready for you at 2.00 pm on your day of arrival, and we ask that you vacate the premises by 11.00 am, unless otherwise arranged. 

Because the Suite has no reception desk, we would be grateful if you could advise us of your time of arrival preferably 15 minutes in advance on +420 602 457 338, in order that you may be met by one of our staff.

We will meet you in the offices of the Smetana's Litomyšl Endowment, which shares the former Castle Brewery with the Suite. On arriving in Litomyšl, go towards the centre and onto the main square (Smetanovo náměstí). Go past the statue of Bedřich Smetana in the lower part of the square, turn up the hill keeping the post office on your left and continue towards the castle. Enter the 1st courtyard through the gateway, and you will find our offices above this gateway. We will give you a car pass with your keys which will allow you access to the castle site - continue to the upper section of the 1st courtyard (towards the fountain) through the gateway from Jiráskova Street, where you may park.
